Role Overview:
The Solutions Architect is responsible for designing and delivering customer-facing solutions built on the Nuix Neo Platform. This role focuses on understanding customer requirements, shaping technical solutions for complex use cases, and supporting the sales cycle through POCs, tenders, and Statements of Work (SOWs). The Solutions Architect acts as the technical bridge between customer needs and Nuix’s platform capabilities, ensuring solutions are fit-for-purpose across diverse deployment environments.
Location:
This position will be based in our Sydney office. The candidate is required to attend the office a minimum of 3 days per week but may voluntarily elect to work either remotely or from the Sydney office for the remaining 2 days of the week.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Solution Design
Design end-to-end technical solutions for customer engagements across eDiscovery, forensics, and investigations use cases
Translate customer business requirements into scalable, performant Nuix Neo Platform architectures
Define deployment architectures considering customer infrastructure, security, and compliance requirements
Create solution blueprints, architecture diagrams, and technical documentation for customer proposals
Recommend optimal configurations for processing pipelines, storage, indexing, and export workflows
Design solutions across deployment models (air-gapped, data centre, high-end servers, cloud)
Ensure customer solutions meet security and compliance requirements
Pre-Sales & Tender Support
Work with the Solution Consultants to define the technical aspects of tender responses and RFP/RFI submissions
Assist with developing Statements of Work (SOWs) for Proof of Concepts (POCs) and customer implementations
Help with technical discovery sessions with prospective customers
Present solution architectures and technical capabilities to customer stakeholders
Help size and scope customer environments (data volumes, processing requirements, infrastructure needs)
Collaborate with Sales and Product teams to position Nuix solutions effectively
Provide competitive technical analysis and differentiation strategies
Proof of Concept Delivery
Design and execute POC architectures that demonstrate Nuix Neo Platform capabilities
Define success criteria, test scenarios, and evaluation metrics for POCs
Work with Professional Services and Engineering to deliver POC environments
Analyse POC results and provide recommendations for production deployments
Document lessons learned and best practices from customer engagements
Ensure POCs reflect realistic customer deployment scenarios
Customer Engagement & Advisory
Serve as trusted technical adviser to customers during pre-sales and implementation phases
Understand customer workflows, pain points, and technical constraints
Advise on integration patterns with customer systems (data sources, review platforms, export targets)
Provide guidance on performance optimisation, scalability, and operational best practices
Support escalations requiring deep architectural expertise
Build long-term relationships with customer technical stakeholders
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
Partner with Platform Architect and Enterprise Architect on deployment architectures leveraging the Neo Platform
Provide customer feedback to inform platform roadmap and feature priorities
Collaborate with Product Management on customer-driven requirements
Work with Professional Services on implementation patterns and deployment standards
Share customer insights and solution patterns with Engineering teams
Contribute to internal knowledge base, reference architectures, and solution accelerators
Mentor junior engineers and architects
Contribute to architecture community of practice
Develop architectural capability across engineering organisation
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Technical Expertise
7+ years of solutions architecture experience in enterprise software
Strong understanding of distributed systems, data processing, and search technologies
Experience designing solutions for eDiscovery, forensics, legal technology, or data analytics domains
Knowledge of deployment architectures (air-gapped, data centre, cloud, hybrid)
Familiarity with containerisation, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Understanding of integration patterns, APIs, and data pipelines
Solution Design & Delivery
Proven track record of designing and delivering complex customer solutions
Experience with POC planning, execution, and evaluation
Strong requirements gathering and analysis skills
Ability to translate business needs into technical architectures
Experience sizing and scoping large-scale data processing environments
Knowledge of performance tuning and optimisation techniques
Customer-Facing Skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences
Experience supporting sales cycles, tenders, and RFP responses
Ability to build credibility and trust with customer stakeholders
Strong problem-solving skills under tight timelines
Comfortable working in pre-sales and post-sales contexts
Experience managing customer expectations and delivering difficult messages
Domain Knowledge
Understanding of eDiscovery workflows (collection, processing, review, production)
Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements (data privacy, chain of custody, audit trails)
Familiarity with forensic investigation methodologies (preferred)
Experience with legal technology platforms (Relativity, Nuix Discover, review tools) (preferred)
Understanding of compliance and security requirements in regulated industries
Desired Expertise:
