Role Overview:
Reporting to the Chief Product & Technology Officer, the General Manager of Product plays a pivotal role in defining and executing the strategic vision for Nuix’s next-generation platform and data solutions. In this high-impact leadership role, you will be responsible for leading a world-class product management team, transforming complex data capabilities into scalable, market-leading products. Working closely with Engineering, Architecture, and Commercial teams, you will champion a data-first culture, accelerate our platform evolution, and ensure our product roadmap directly aligns with business growth and our customers' deepest needs.
Location:
This position will be based in our Sydney office. The candidate is required to attend the office a minimum of 3 days per week but may voluntarily elect to work either remotely or from the Sydney office for the remaining 2 days of the week.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision
Partner closely with the Chief Product & Technology Officer and senior technology leadership to define and execute a cohesive, long-term product strategy for Nuix’s platform and data processing engines.
Translate complex market insights, customer data, and technical capabilities into a high-performing product roadmap that drives recurring revenue (ACV) and market differentiation.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of Product Managers, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and psychological safety.
Instill modern product management methodologies (data-driven discovery, continuous delivery, and user-centric design) across the product organisation.
Platform & Data Lifecycle Management
Drive the modernisation of Nuix's core platform assets, ensuring high scalability, data security, robust API ecosystems, and seamless integration capabilities.
Oversee the entire product lifecycle from concept to sunset, balancing technical debt with new feature velocity and platform stability.
Cross-Functional & Commercial Alignment
Act as the strategic bridge between Engineering/Architecture and the Go-To-Market (GTM) teams, ensuring smooth commercial launches, clear pricing strategies, and effective product enablement.
Engage deeply with key enterprise customers, advisory boards, and partners to gather feedback and evangelise the Nuix product vision.
Metrics & Operational Excellence
Establish and track clear product success metrics (e.g., adoption rates, platform performance, NPS, time-to-market).
Utilise data analytics to continuously evaluate product performance, inform prioritisation, and justify investment decisions to executive stakeholders.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
15+ years of progressive experience in Product Management, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role (Director, Head of, or GM level).
Proven track record of success within highly scalable Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) or Data-heavy SaaS companies (e.g., big data, analytics, enterprise search, infrastructure, or cybersecurity).
Deep expertise in managing large-scale data architecture products, APIs, and cloud-native SaaS delivery models.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to influence senior technical leaders (CTO, Chief Architects) and business executives alike.
Strong commercial acumen with experience defining pricing, packaging, and commercialisation strategies for enterprise SaaS.
Desired Expertise:
A strong technical background (e.g., Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or equivalent practical experience).
Experience leading product organisations through a significant legacy-to-SaaS technology transformation.
